Diamonds Galore (the little woman picked the name) is available in three mold types but shown here as the Pattern Only mold. The casting made by this mold fits our Cavity Mold perfectly. However, if you have a plain pen blank mold that's 7/8" square and 6" long you could use that too.
Doing the second pour of resin requires the use of a pipette at the very least but ideally a trimmed pipette with a CA Glue tip extender would work best to fill those small diamonds. See the photo of the trimmed and untrimmed pipettes to see the assembly I used. When using the glue tip extender you need to fill the pipette with the extender off the pipette. Once filled replace the extender onto the pipette. The opening is too small to suck in any resin in but perfect for injecting resin out.
As you can see here, I use my favorite demolding (sculpting) tool to get the casting out. But first I start by carefully pulling sideways on the sides (not too much as to tear the mold) and pushing up from underneath with a kind of cupping motion of my hands. This is done to get air pockets into the casting to aide in it's release. (Note: I don't use mold release when I test a new pattern. If I can get it out without release then you should be able to get out with mold release.)
Sample casting is in it's raw state - meaning it has had nothing done to it like sanding or turning. It's straight out of the pot as is.
Last photo is a simulation of how this casting could look when turned down to 15mm. The empty space is where the resin goes for the second (fill-in) pour.
NOTE: Now with the optional tube-in tube mount kit (shown in the second from last photo). Intended for use in the cavity side of the mold for doing label casting. Has nothing to do with the pattern of this mold. It is only meant to add on to the functionality of this mold.
All Two-Step molds are made to order and don't exist until the order is placed.
I love the quality of these molds!
I own several of these molds by Armand, and they are absolutely the best silicone molds on the market.

Silicone Mold Designer/Maker
Hello, I'm just an elderly gentleman that used to make wood pens and sold them on the crook site known as E t s y! This website is my breakaway from them. Anyway, as I said I used to make wood pens but the pen making competition out there is just too great for this old guy. When COVID broke out my son and I started making mask prototypes from heat resistant skin safe resin. That required the use of custom silicone molds. Well we finally got a mask that was approved by the hospital for use but it had to be patent pending before they would buy them. So with no money left to pursue it any further it was dropped. I had all this silicone left so I decided to design and make a new universal tube-in mold that would work for most any pen type. One thing lead to another and here I am now with a full product line of two-step silicone molds for pen makers and have new patterns coming out all the time. This new product line is a low profit but satisfying one that I enjoy doing. They have been sold to customers in over seven countries.
Please Note: If Armand's Write Stuff (AWS) spends time designing and making a new product - even if it was by request - the product design remains the property of AWS and will be sold as seen fit by AWS.
