Home of the Two-Step mold.
International shipping is nearly impossible to generalize under my current settings so I suggest before you finalize your order talk to me and I'll adjust the shipping as close as possible for you.
Make sure to check out the new Badge / Magnet / Keychain / Coaster molds. New ones coming all the time. If you don't want the mold I now sell the actual castings in whatever format you need.
All prices listed are in Canadian Dollars (CDN) but orders are paid for in your currency's equivalent. All invoices will show as CDN dollars.
These are the same idea as my Star Trek Badges (or fridge magnets). These are, in some cases, a little more detailed and I'm not sure how many of them I can make. However I will keep trying and add them to this listing as I achieve them.
The Star Wars Series 1 mold has the Jedi Order, Rebel Alliance, Galactic Federation and the Galactic Empire (Imperial) Badges / Magnets. All of these patterns are also available as the small mold (last photo). Photos of these castings will be posted soon.
How to make them: To make the castings I filled the pattern layer (colored) using a pipette combined with an extender tip for finer details. In the case of the detail layer it is best to under fill slightly than to over fill. If you do over fill then after curing clean it off with an xacto knife (Without removing it from the mold - the casting MUST stay attached to the mold firmly otherwise the background color could seep in front of the colors in which case you will need to clean that off too.) before covering it with the black. The black layer is straight forward, just fill to capacity, again do not over fill. The final layer (Clear) is done after demolding the badge and putting it into the round cavity (coasters have a separate cavity mold) and fill with resin. Again, here it is best to have slightly less resin then to over-fill it. After it has completely cured you can sand the sharp corners with fine (320) grit sandpaper.
Star Wars Coasters - Same procedures are used to make the coasters as the Badges. I have only made the Jedi Order coaster so far. I will make the others when they have been ordered and add photo's to this listing at that time. The Jedi Order coaster sample here I made with the inclusion of some glow in the dark mica power as well as the silver, as you can tell in the photo where it looks green. There are a few spots on there and I have no idea what caused them so I think it was the glow powder. I included the Star Wars badges for a size comparison. The two cups show the size of the coaster, the big mug is actually a soup mug. The coaster is 4 inches in diameter and 5/16" thick (approx. depending on how thick your last pour is.)
I love the quality of these molds!
I own several of these molds by Armand, and they are absolutely the best silicone molds on the market.
Armand Buron
Silicone Mold Designer/Maker
Hello, I'm just an elderly gentleman that used to make wood pens and sold them on the crook site known as E t s y! This website is my breakaway from them. Anyway, as I said I used to make wood pens but the pen making competition out there is just too great for this old guy. When COVID broke out my son and I started making mask prototypes from heat resistant skin safe resin. That required the use of custom silicone molds. Well we finally got a mask that was approved by the hospital for use but it had to be patent pending before they would buy them. So with no money left to pursue it any further it was dropped. I had all this silicone left so I decided to design and make a new universal tube-in mold that would work for most any pen type. One thing lead to another and here I am now with a full product line of two-step silicone molds for pen makers and have new patterns coming out all the time. This new product line is a low profit but satisfying one that I enjoy doing. They have been sold to customers in over seven countries.
Please Note: If Armand's Write Stuff (AWS) spends time designing and making a new product - even if it was by request - the product design remains the property of AWS and will be sold as seen fit by AWS.
